Hello There!!!

It's your new Christian psychologist and author friend

My name is Dr. Ajabeyang (Ajab) Amin. I am originally from Cameroon, Central Africa where I grew up. I’ve been in the U.S. for over 20 years as an adult.

I am a licensed psychologist and a Christian counselor in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. But don’t worry, I work with people in multiple other states as well.

Having lived in different places (Cameroon, Senegal, Ghana, France, El-Salvador, and various U.S. states), I have connected with people from various backgrounds, ethnicities, ages, genders, marital statuses, and walks of life.

We all experience challenges, but some difficulties immigrants face are unique and tough to navigate.

I realize that the notion of mental issues can be viewed negatively (to say the least) especially among people from collectivistic cultures.

But then, for anyone breathing, there are moments when we have felt distressed or concerned about something. In those moments, we have sought help from friends, family, spiritual leaders, or mentors. Consider me as one of those people.

My role as a counselor is to help you navigate a wide range of emotional, mental, and spiritual difficulties...

So that you can function better and increase your healing and overall well-being. I am particularly drawn to helping people with issues around navigating cultures and transitions, healing relationships, struggling in their Christian faith, finding belonging, and processing difficult emotions.

I also provide education on mental problems when needed (as you can see in the blog section). I have worked with adults from 18 to 102 years old on college campuses, community health centers, group practices, and geriatric rehab facilities.

I strive to incorporate culturally relevant practices, psychological research, and Biblical wisdom to foster holistic well-being and personal growth in my clients. My hope is to equip you with the tools to heal, thrive, lead fulfilling lives, and uplift your communities.

Outside of counseling and doing workshops...

I love to dance, write, walk in nature, serve my church, and spend quality time with family and friends. I wrote the book, Not Far From The Truth inspired by my research on culturally sensitive approaches to working with African immigrants.
