MY BOOK IS COMING SOON!!!

And I’m excited for you to read it. But first, because you’ve been reading my blog, I’ll give you an inside scoop. Here is a little about the book:

1) What is the book called?

Drum roll please...

NOT FAR FROM THE TRUTH

2) What is the book about?

Not Far From The Truth is a fictional book of 10 short stories of healing, faith, hope, and courage. Each story is written in the form of conversations of various African immigrant characters. They are stories about loss, grief, divorce, singleness, discrimination, faith, and more.

3)What will I get from reading the book?

My main goal is to help the reader to walk away with coping tools to help them with their mental, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing. And I wanted to do it in a way that was entertaining and enjoyable as opposed to academic. Therefore, Not Far From The Truth is written in the form of stories that are relatable and easy to understand.

4) Why should I listen to you, specifically?

My blog speaks to my work so browse around 😉 But something you may not know about me is that when I was going through my doctorate program, I completed a dissertation on mental health treatment approaches for African immigrants in the U.S. I interviewed members of this group and they shared their experiences of how they had gotten through migration, grief, divorce, trauma, and the like. My dissertation committee was so impressed by my writing about the subject that they encouraged me to write a book. I already had the thought to do so, hence their words were affirmation. Not Far From The Truth is inspired by that work along with other experiences of friends, acquaintances, family members, and my own.

5) What else should I know about this book?

You will enjoy reading it. So get ready to buy your copy soon!
